Anyone else had a peculiar aches-all-over sort of bug?

That's about it really -3 to 4 days of aches and pains all over, headache, now feel like a wrung-out dish cloth and am sleeping all the time (going to bed with DS at 8.00). I feel a bit of a malingerer as I can't say "ooh yes, got a bad head cold/ sore throat, whatever" but I feel really awful. Any ideas what it might be?

Is it not flu and you're fighting through it ? Lol

LurcioLovesFrankie · 27/01/2010 14:44

Assume it's not flu as (a) I'm well enough to type on the lap top, rather than thinking I'm going to die any moment and (b) no temperature. Just puzzled as to what it could be.

This sounds exactly what I have had this week. I had a cold last week. Thats gone but this week I have a sore throat, headache and my body was aching so much my DH had to stay off work to look after DS as I just couldn't get up. I tried getting up and after 10 minutes, went back to bed again. Kept going really hot but no fever. Still got a sore throat and I am tired but a I am well enough to get up now which is something. No idea what it is though. I went on NHS direct and stuff and there didn't seem to be anything that matched it. I have put it down to a bug as I really don't think it was the flu.

Ah - thanks Coldhands. Still no closer to working out what it is. Trouble is I really don't feel well enough to go to work, but feel bad staying off when I don't know what it is, if you see what I mean.

Yes, had appalling aches in my back and shoulders and felt absolutely shattered. DP had it too, and I suspect DD also.

Coldhands · 27/01/2010 20:46

Yeah my back and sholders were the worst!! Sooo much pain it was keeping me awake. I if I did work, I wouldn't be able to still, don't feel 100% at all.

Thanks all - feeling better about going to doctor rather than back to work. Was feeling I must be a right skiver since I couldn't work out what was wrong. Hope you're both starting to feel better now.

If your doctor gives you a diagnosis, let us know! I'd love to know what it was that laid us all up last week!
