Banged my head twice in November. Went to A&E, diagnosed concussion and whiplash. A few days later banged it again but didn't see anyone.

A week ago I started having problems. Pressure pain in head, pain spread to neck and shoulders and I couldn't get up. Took me an hour to get out of bed.

Next night leg was shaking involuntary and I couldn't stop it.

Next night I climbed into the shower and couldn't get the other one in.

Monday night I had the most horrendous sudden pain in my head and then felt very sick and cold. Felt the same the next morning. Already at the hospital so went to A&E. Saw OOH GP, said I needed to see my GP.

Just seen him. Said it sounds migrainous and has given me tablets to take at bedtime, can't drive and will refer me to a neurologist.

I think I might cry.

Does it sound like it was a migraine?

He did describe the pain as crushing pressure.

Oh crap. Maybe the GP was right then. I don't have a problem to light though.

Does he still suffer with them and what was/is the trigger?

I think that everyone has different experiences, my dh has them very occasionally. No aversion to light, but some smells make him puke.
Good luck

I just don't understand how they can be migraines tbh, not from what I know about them anyway. The GP said the pains in my neck and shoulder were stress.

Have you seen an osteopath? Maybe banging your head did something to your neck and shoulders, which in turn is giving you the headaches.

I don't have migraines but have heard they can be very random - you don't have to have all the symptoms.

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 28/01/2010 08:17

I am waiting to see a chiropractor - I have had other problems from before I banged my head.
