taking the yasmin pill (contraception) and citalopram ? I'm trying to manage my pmt as it si horrendous so I was suggested the pill and I also take citalopram. I'm 2 stones overweight and I have started a diet but then I read that you can put weight on the pill and you can also put weight on anti ds ? Will I ever lose weight ? Thank you.

You don't necessarily gain weight by taking the contraceptive pill or antidepressants. Some medication can increase appetite but it's down to you whether you choose to indulge that appetite, of course
If you're worried about side-effects, do go back to whoever prescribed your meds and have a conversation.

Weight-loss boils down to taking in slightly fewer calories than you use up. If you make good food choices...e.g. eating plenty of fruit and veg, wholegrains etc.... if you carefully control your portion-sizes, keep a food diary and if you make a point to get half an hour of exercise every day then you should be able to control your weight regardless of medication.
