What to expect after tooth extraction?

I had a tooth removed yesterday. It broke at work last year when someone walked into me.
Today it feels like my head has been run over. My nose is agony, under my eyes, my ear, my jaw. It is all throbbing. My gums and the roof of my mouth are swollen.
Also the tooth next to the one that was removed is wobbly, is all of this normal?
I had no idea how bad this would be, it is the most pain i have ever been in.

I had a tooth removed just over a month ago. I thought it would never heal. Lots of pain and gunk and swollen... and then noticed a bit of tooth or something still there. After a few days it came out and it all healed really easily after that.

The dentist saw me again after the pain got so much worse. I have 'dry socket'. they cleaned it out and packed it with something that tastes vile and looks like tobacco.

Had an extraction on a broken tooth that had root treatment but the tooth next to it has a crown ..that does have pain under it could it be fractured or is it normal for it to hurt??
