DS seems to have developed a really bony chest

Ds's chest seems to have got really bony of late. He doesn't look as if he's lost weight elsewhere. Having said that, he did get a little bit skinny after being poorly a couple of times recently with chest infections, but has regained this (going visually that is).

Could the boniness be related to the chest infections? Could it just be that he's not been using his upper body that much, being less active in the winter months?

I don't want to show the doctor yet in case it freaks ds out, although I guess I should.

He's 9 btw and has dyspraxia, so he can look a little awkward and gangly at times.

Has he had a growth spurt? They can look a bit funny before things balance out after a growth spurt..

My ds has a very boney chest but he's always been a skinny minny .He's also hypermobile and hasn't much muscle tone. His ribs can look frighteningly boney at times,I just put it down to his natural size and ggrowth spurts.

I'd get your ds just weighed at the gp's to keep a eye on his weight.

I think you're both probably right there, thanks.

Not-so-little boys are odd creatures...
