I know I need this done as have early signs of gum disease but hate dentists at best of times and this sounds gruesome. Has anyone had a positive experience of this. what can I expect and did it have any marked effect on gum health long term. I would like to have braces tocorrect overcrowded teeth and need my gums in tip top condition first.

Are you seeing the hygienist for this? Take a couple of nurofen an hour before the treatment especially if you have sensitive teeth.

Seeing a new dentist who is taking over from usual dentist. He specialises in gum problems apparently. Did you have an injection to numb mouth before hand?

I had an injection first and don't remember it hurting at all, just a bit long and boring. Ibruprofen beforehand is a good idea. Good luck. It really did help in my case, but I see a hygeinist every 3 months to keep it up. Expensive.

It's well worth it, my gums have improved dramatically with my brilliant new dentist and hygienist who I drive 100 miles to see! It is so worth it as I trust him and it has all been very painless.

My DD used to have chronic bad breath, and since having deep cleaning and Retardex he never has a problem.

we are both addicted to Tepe brushes ad clean carefully everynight, almost a competition ( sad life we lead!) I sometime want to say to friends, do you know you have really bad breath, but how can you? They don't know, and some of them are awful!
