But am still getting pain. I also have what feels like a lump in my right side just under my ribs. Anyone experience anything similar? Haven't been back to doctors yet. Gall bladder was taken out about a year ago. Have considered it may be nothing to do with gall bladder but might be an ulcer. Any ideas?

I have certainly heard of people continuing to get symptoms but you should definitely get thsi checked. There are various old gallbladder threads where the subject is discussed if you do a search. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon...

hi MrsNorthman...had mine out in june and i was really ill after having it out for 6 weeks or so.Felt worse after my op than i did before it I was in agony and lost nearly 2 stone. I was convinced i was dying.

Whereabouts is your lump...is it deep inside or superficial.

Have you had any further scans to check that no stones have got left in the common bile duct.have they done an ERCP

You have my deepest sympathy for your pain..unfortunately got the t shirt.

Hi Alypaly. The lump is inside it's not on the outside of my body. It sort of buzzes too which I am coming round to thinking may be bile being released into my stomach? Maybe?? I've had another scan and everything is normal. By reading some old threads I think what I have seems to be 'normal' so now i'm not worrying that I have stomach or liver cancer. Sounds silly I know but these things go through your head. Google has it's uses but sometimes it doesn't half come up with horrific things too!!

oh please don't google! Speak to your consultant or practitioner! You will feel lumpy after surgery anyway. Try not to worry

did you have keyhole or open surgery?
I wouldnt have thought you should have been lumpy after 12 months. Had mine in june and you can hardly see anything. The bile doesnt get released as such ,now that you have no gall bladder as a storage area ,instead,it constantly trickles and there should be no surges of bile.

I had keyhole. The puncture wounds have healed fine. The lumpyness is inside my stomach. It feels like a golf ball. I had it before my op and was scanned before and after?? [hmmm]

that sounds a bit odd,its not a hernia or adhesions is it. Adhesions can give you an awful lot of pain and can feel lumpy too.
