would i know about it if i had a womb infection after a caesarean section?

Probably a silly question i know!

Anyone had one after giving birth? Could you tell me your symptoms?

I had one- I had a brownish coloured discharge and the giveaway was the smell. Not exactly pleasant, but you did ask

A course of antibiotics cleared it up within a few days.

Do you think you have one? Any symptoms?

Hi, thanks for replying. Im still bleeding 3 weeks after having a caesarean and the midwives dont want to discharge us from their care until they see me tomorrow. Ive had some mild period type cramps today on and off but thats it really. Just wanted an idea of the symptoms so i can stop worrying about it!

Anyone else? Do you feel poorly with it or does it just cause extra bleeding/smell?

i remember a particularily blunt midwife allaying my fears by telling me if i had an infection she wouldn't be able to stand near me for the smell.

i seemed to bleed for a zillion years after mine

I've had one, not from a ceasarean though. My symptoms were disgusting smelling discharge (sorry!) pain in my lower abdomen and lower back, and a raised temperature. I felt pretty poorly.
