How to tell a good lump from a bad lump

I'm 27 slightly overweight and generally fit and healthy.

I found a lump in my breast a while ago but it seemed to go away by itself so didn't get it checked out.

In the bath last night I noticed it was there again and it seems bigger to me, it's really hard but doesn't hurt. On my right breast on the top side part towards my armpit, if that makes sense?

My period started yesterday so am thinking it's connected to my period. It is probably nothing but do I need to get it looked at just in-case? What if it goes again, I'll feel like a twat with the DR having to rummage to find it.

Only a Dr having a poke at it will be able to tell. They would always rather poke and find nothing to worry about than people who worry about bothering Dr/ looking a fool and don't go.

It's probably a hormonal thing - but does need to be checked
