Mum has found a lump, should I go to hospital with her tomorrow?

Hi. I need some advice quickly really.

Mum told me today (only because I saw the letter on the side which she was meant to hide) that she found a lump in her breast and has an appointment tomorrow for a scan.

I offered to go with her but she said dont worry as I have DD2 with me.

I am now thinking of cancelling my swimming plans for dd2 and meeting her at the hospital.

What would you do? meet or leave to get on with it?

Thanks

How did she sound when you offered to go? If it was a no, but sounded like a yes, go. Or if you'll regret not going, go. Otherwise you could arrange to go with her to the appointment for the scan results.

Good luck.

If you are going to have a child with you, then I'd leave your mum to it. The clinics for breast lumps usually can do lots of tests in one visit if needs be, so there can be a lot of hanging around, and your mum may not want to keep a brave face on for DD2 or make conversation

I'd go with her but not with dd2. She'd probably be pleased that she has someone to talk to whilst she's waiting. She probably won't get any results tomorrow. Is it a mammogram or an untrasound that she's having? mammograms are uncomfortable so she'd probably be grateful for you being there.

I really do hope it is all OK.

Hi, if there is someone who can look after dd2 I would go, but don't just turn up and surprise her. She may think today that she can face it better on her own (I know) but tomorrow she will welcome the support.

I have spoken to her tonight, at first she said she didnt want me to go but now she says she would like me to be there. So I am going. After all she was there when i had to take DD to hospital, she wouldnt let me go alone. I will see if MIL will look after DD in the morning but if not I will take her.

Think its important im there with her.

PS, I think its a scan.
