no advice needed I think, just sympathy. Was wondering why my toes were stinging so much. On closer inspection the salt/snow mix I've been dealing with today (from helping clear at school) has soaked through my walking boots and socks and made its way to my chilblains which have broken down a bit.

no wonder it hurts!

owwwwww. I share your pain. Thought mine had gone as I was really coddling my feet, warm socks, double socks, etc. Then the seam of my socks started rubbing inside myboots yesterday. ouch.

oof. not nice!!

not quite sure how to desalt my boots, its really soaked in. I think drying them and then brushing off what I can and rewaterproofing them is the only option.
gloves are very salty too so walking socks and gloves are in the washing machine.

still you stop them getting infected!
