Hello. My son was born 11 weeks early at only 1 lb 10. He is now 16 weeks old (5 weeks corrected age) and is doing very well (He weighed in today at 6lb 2- enormous to us). During his time in special care one of the consultants recommended he had the swine flu vaccine. Since then I have had conflicting advice from several other health professionals. I feel very confused- essentially the decision is ours but what a huge decision to make when the last doctor I spoke to suggested that no-one really knows the long term effects. Does anybody have any experience of this? HELP!

Hiya

I'm about to give our prem baby the jab - but he's now 1. He had all his jabs up to now and hasn't had any negative reactions despite being a wee thing (born at 34 weeks weighing 2 lb 12 oz).

I asked his consultant yesterday and he said he'd definitely recommend it and was giving it to his own children.
