Pains at temple and jaw after ear ache what is it?

Hi, my dd is at uni. and has just rang me saying she is in a lot of pain.

She had bad ear ache over the weekend and most of night has experienced pain down one side of her head. Temple, jaw area.

Are these symptoms of sinus problems? Should I get her a doctors appointment?

Any advise. So difficult to help her when shes not here with me.

It sounds like inflammation pain. If she is in a lot of pain, and normal remedies such as paracetamol or ibuprofen are not helping, then she really should go and see the doctor to rule out an infection.

Could be trigeminal neuralgia snowaddict. It's very painful. Google it - you'll see it's pain in the nerve that runs over that area. I had it first some years ago - mine seems to be triggered by stress but also by the cold. She should visit the GP.

sorry if this scares you but ear infections can lead to mastoiditis - infection in the jaw bone - which can in turn lead to other stuff

she really needs to see a doctor - and fairly soon - get her to ring the out of hours doc - early course of antibiotics will set her right
