What am i missing in my diet making me crave pork?

I cant get enough pork. I would eat it every day. I know that there are certian tings in there that i might be able to supplement with.

Is it B vitamins?

This really is no joke, I cant get enough and would eat it every night ifi could.

I write this as I eat pork steaks.

Teh rest of my diet is good. Lots of veg etc.

Pork is very lean meat with the fat cut off obviously. Why would you want to give it up?

Sorry I read that thinking you were on a diet. Not sure what you could be missing if you crave pork.

No, i adore Pork. I would like to give some of it up as i really would eat it most nights if not every day.

Maybe you crave it because you love it so much rather than have something missing in your diet?

I didnt use to love it so much, just in the last 6 months or so.

It has to have something useful in it.

I only just started eating it about 8 months ago, used to hate it as a kid but now I love it!

Maybe google the benefits of Pork and see what comes up?

I always have salt on it. Dont add salt to my diet in any other way - other than hidden salt but dont have alot of convience food and cook from scratch for most meals due to allergies.

jj, were you vegeterian in recent past? Some nutrients you can only get from meat, or they are much better absorbed from meat than pulses or grains. B vits? Protein generally?

I had a bacon craving when i was preggers with my second dd. I was so desperate for it a couple of times my DH - who is muslim and therefore doesn't eat pork - had to go out and not just buy it but cook it for me too - love him.

I used to be veggie and vegan a few yrs ago now. Dont often crave anything else but it really makes my mouth water and i think about it a lot when i really want it.

So funny the comments, couldn't resist to get involved... I had been through lots of different cravings. Meat was usually when I was avoiding meat... guessing protein stores might need topping up? had tomato and chillies in past and that came to my Iron stores being low so seems like I was looking for quick energy subconsciously. I would check with GP and some basic bloods to get an idea on what is missing, otherwise enjoy in safe quantities. Follow your instincts I say :)
