strange period or early miscarriage?

and as not ttc,the opposite infact,I have the old type coil.
before christmas,AF was couple of days late when I fell down some icy steps.Straight away started spotting (tmi-pinkish) this carried on ,not enough for period ,for 6 days.Then woke one morning to flooding,red.had that for 2 days then stopped for 2 days then yesterday woke with bad cramps went to loo and passed some clots and now had pinky brown disscharge since then.so my usual AF would be 1 day light,2 days heavy,1/2 days light.
I have now been bleeding on and off for 12 days,any ideas what the hell is happening and if i should bother telling doctor?

Doesn't sound like a normal period to me, and if it's not normal for you I think you should go to the doc. Did you hit your stomach when you fell?

the only other possibility is that the coil could have dislodgedhalf fallen out. MIne did- and I didn't stop bleeding for 3 weeks. I think you should see your GP and expect at least an internal and possibly be sent for an ultrasound scan. Have you thought of doing a PG test?

didnt hurt stomach-landed hard on back ribs
lower back and ample buttocks!
also,I know there would be no reason to be pregnant as i have the coil,but i feel really wiped out,cant keep my eyes open and my pmt symptoms(want to stuff face whilst crying!) usually disapear imedeately when AF arrives and that hasnt happened.
anyway if i was i'm sure ican't be now.

You can still bleed when you are PG- and if you were, then you need to see a dr as ap. You might not have expelled all the contents- sorry- sounds gross, but relevant.

also the coil is not 100% effective- almost, but not quite.
