It sounds terrible and I am worried it will go to his chest.

What can I do to help him?

How old is DS1?

Have you tried NHS direct - i know they normally tell you to go to GP but it may be worth a try?

My DS (21 months) has a horrible cough and i'm going to take him to go today just in case - he ended up in hospital for a week with pnuemonia earlier in the year, so i share your worries.....

Have you googled? I read about steaming yesterday for coughs like 'croup' etc... I know my gp thinks cough medicines are pretty useless.

I know you are no over reacting Riven. How is your dd today?

He is 8.

NHS direct is not worth the time ime.

Not googling as it can make things worse.

I will steam him later.

Dh has gone to work and I am not happy. His phone doesn't work but his blackberry might. His computer got attacked by a virus yesterday so said he had to go in but I am not happy. His drive is only normally 35-40 minutes but I am expecting at least double that. God knows how he will get back up the hill to get home.

Dh has phoned to say he is at work and it wasn't too bad. He would have to abandon the car as there isn't anywhere to park. Will have to wait and see what happens with the weather later.
