I am going CRAZY, the itching is driving me mad! I'm in my 3rd trimester so don't want to take anything until I check with the pharmacist it's ok, but I can't get there until tomorrow - any home remedies anyone can suggest until then... I've been crazy busy, I should of sorted it out a few days ago but I left it hoping it would get better on it's own

Oh, and the smothering live yoghurt on your bits remedy - just tried it, felt YUK, and didn't help, had to go wash it off. Luckily DH had popped to the shops so he didn't have to see the undignified site of his 36 wk pregnant wife with yeo valley all over her unmentionables...

Try some teatree oil in the bath. It does work.

Dampen slightly and freeze a flannel. Use as a sanitary towel (poss with thin sock round it if too cold).

Canesten and pessaries are fine when pg if you have any.

Or have you got a 24 hour Boots nearby? Ours is only a hatch service, but is open v.long hours.

I'm 37+4 and had the most awful thrush past few days. I sent DH to get me Canesten pessaries and cream but found the most useful thing to be ice packs and v cold water with tea tree oil in and "bathing" the area with cotton wool dipped in this solution. Plus the Canesten of course .

Hope it gets better for you. I was in a terrible state yesterday with mine so certainly feel your pain.

Oh, is canisten ok then? Tablets or just the cream? I'll be down at the pharmacy first thing tomorrow!
I could send DH out to get me some but the neaest 24hr pharmacy is a while away, and he's been an angel and had DS pretty much single handed today while i put my feet up - feel bad giving him another errand! I'm running a t-tree oil bath as we speak. Liking the sound of the chilled flannel as well...

As if being 36 wks wasn't enough, who needs thrush too?!

Ttree helped a bit. Found a website that suggested witch hazel as well - anyone tried that?

Canestan fine- pessaries and cream. The diflucan oral tablet is NOT fine.

I once tried a clove of garlic- that was a mistake! EWWWW!
