DEPO SHOT?? HAVE YOU HAD IT?

I have been off the Depo for a year in January and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for all of that period. Have any fellow mumsnetters had the DEPO shot and if they had how long did it take to wear off? Reasearch on the internet isnt very clear. Thanks

I stopped having it in 2003 i fell preg with ds2 in 2006.

my friend has been off it for 4 yrs and no luck yet.

It took 3 years before I became pregnant.

Can I ask those who are also still TTC or took ages, did you get tested to see if any other problems? Both parties tested here and no apparent reason, both fit and healthy.

I came off it a year before we started trying, and got pregnant first month of TTC.

Took me about 3 years to concieve and have numerous miscarriages after i stopped having it.

I put 1st 2 mcs down to the depo.

we have had the tests and im producing eggs but not releasing which is due to the depo and doc reckons it will happen but my body needs MORE time ....3 years! LOL
dh is fine.

I had the DEPO for approx 3 years took 18mths from next shot being due to get periods back then 18mths-2years to get pregnant. Had DS then with very sporadic sex and no planning was pg again within 9 mths.

It took 18 months to conceive DD after coming off depo.

Took it for 4 years - got pregnant within a year, not planned and we were using condoms -except once!

I got depo twice. My docs believe that it exacerbated(sp) the undetected PCOS at the time.

Ended up finally conceiving with the help of Clomid. Might be worth mentioning that to your doc.

Depo is the work of the devil and should be scrapped.

Depo is evil, I had it for two years and stopped taking it in November 2003 to TTC, I didnt fall pregnangt until June 2006.

Plus it gave my horrid bleeding.

Stopped the depo 6 months before ttc. Pregnant with ds1 after another 6 months.

2 years later ds2 was conceived at the first month of trying.
