I was getting ovarian cysts. Plus 10lb weight gain I couldn't shift and a permanently spotty chin. Oh, and loss of sex drive.

Had mine out a few years ago due to weight gain and spots. Even after removal they stayed. After my next baby spots etc came nack at the same stage my mirena was fitted so i think it was just coincidence. I have another one now and so far things are OK.

I am now on my 2nd Mirena. Had the first one for 5 years, removed and a new one inserted straight away. Never had any problems - not had a period for about 5 years and gives me no problems. Another friend of mine has major problems.

For me, it is the right thing and I will not change.

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

constant bleeding, no sex drive, spots, mood swings.

do a search on Mirena on theseboards.

there are many who have had problems.

I loved mine in so much as I had no periods and felt great, but had absolutely no sex drive whatsoever which kind of defeated the point of having one. It had to come out.
I got pg with twins the following month though, which had the same effect on the sex drive
