Anyone's baby had Swine Flu?

If yes, please come and tell me how bad it was? My DD2 is 7 months, probably has an egg allergy (but then the jabs aren't going to happen anyway now are they?) and there's now been a case of SF in DD1's nursery. So... I am worried.

Well, we don't know for sure (no tests), but we all had a fluey bug over the last couple of weeks, with my 10 month old DD last to come down with it.

I took her to see a nurse who put her down as "suspected swine flu".

She had a temperature, then a day of being very drowsy and wanting to sleep on a parent, then she was much improved with a just a cough and runny nose for the next few days.

Incidentally, my son (3.8) had just the temperature but was otherwise fine (he was the one I was really worried about as he's asthmatic). And my husband and I were completely floored by the thing.

So, I'd worried myself silly over nothing . That's assuming it WAS swine flu, and I would say that if your baby gets flu like symptoms, do call your GP or out of hours service and they should assess her.

Thanks, glad you were all okay. Anyone else?

Hello. My son was born 11 weeks early at only 1 lb 10. He is now 16 weeks old (5 weeks corrected age) and is doing very well (He weighed in today at 6lb 2- enormous to us). During his time in special care one of the consultants recommended he had the swine flu vaccine. Since then I have had conflicting advice from several other health professionals. I feel very confused- essentially the decision is ours but what a huge decision to make when the last doctor I spoke to suggested that no-one really knows the long term effects. Does anybody have any experience of this? HELP!

my 19 month old had it. i made the decision not to give tamiflu. he recovered pretty well. just a high temperature and he just slept on me for about 2 days. his appetite went for about 10 days.
