Those diagnosed with candida, what made you get tested?

Ive been reading up on the causes of whats seen as Auto immune disease/proctitis (diagnosis just given)& it seems candida is a major player in affecting these things.

When I first saw the gastro a few weeks ago , one of the main reasons I saw him was that I couldn't eat without having upset stomach , fatigue & weight loss (amongst other nasty symptoms), so he gave me an IBS diet worksheet.

Now hes given me my diagnosis and colifoam steroid and a very strong anti inflammatory , hes said he doesn't see any reason why I can eat normally.Hed even forgotten hed given me the diet worksheet.

Ive tried to eat a little more normally, and now have spent the last 48hrs going in and out of the toilet again, feeling pretty much the same as when I 1st went to him.

Is it that the medicine isn't working yet or are they not addressing something like candida.

I just dont know what to do or eat, dh cant understand why Im not feeling better.
