Has anyone got swine flu despite having the vaccine?

I had the jab just over two weeks ago (very pregnant and asthmatic). My dd (2.5) has come down with what the GP thinks is swine flu and has had a temperature of between 39 and 40 for the forth day now and has been very poorly. I also have some of her symptoms (cough, sore throat, aches, runny nose) but without any sign of fever. The GP said I should have started making antibodies about 10 days after the jab. I wonder if I had just about enough antibodies to prevent the worst, but didn't have enough to stop getting at least some symptoms. If so, I am so very glad I had the vaccine because I feel very very ill even without the fever! Has anyone had this or knows if my theory is right?

Sorry you are unwell - had you considered that the vaccine may not have been effective at all? The leaflet in the pack says that not everyone will find it effective.

Hope you get better soon

I did think of this but it is so odd that I have no temperature at all because I certainly feel like I should have one (Same ear thermometer as dd so it definitely works and keeps showing 40+ for her - not that this is a competition of course)

I've read that the full immunity is only reached after three weeks but that you start to build the immunity after the first day...so yes I reckon your jab may well have protected you to some extent..

Not sure, dd had the jab 7 days ago so I am reckoning on her having some immunity even if she gets it now.
