Title says it all!

I have a 5yo Dd and a 14 month old Ds, would my 5yo still qualify for this jab?

I'm all for vaccination normally, my children have had all their vaccines, and are all up to date.

I don't know if its because I've been reading the threads on here, I just have this uneasy feeling about this particular vaccine.

Could anyone in the know give me some links to some research maybe? For and against would be good!

TIA

Izzy, I've been feeling the same - out of the five of us, dd(14) was the only one eligble for Pandemrix - she has Asthma. I was feeling the same.....is she going to be the guinea pig for the rest of us?

I did the research. Actually, if you dig around, you don't really find anything that proves that this is really a problem vaccine.

I told myself: my kids have had all the jabs, including the cervical cancer ones...why on earth should I fear this one? Apart from it being new. I spoke to a pharmacist friend, she said she would have her kids done if they were in the target group.

anyway, dd had the jab last week. She is fine. (Definately had some side effects - headache, fever, sore arm...but didn't stop her doing going to school, gym club etc...) She is really OK.

Don't worry.

Thankyou mumonthenet, like I say, they have had all the others, cant really put my finger on whats putting me off of this one!

Thanks again, I feel more reassured now.

Thanks for posting this mumonthenet Sorry to reopen this thread but rather than writing a new one I wonder if anyone else has any opnions on this.

My DC are 4 and 20 months. Have others had vaccines and what have they experienced?

Has anyone not had the vaccine for their kids and if not why?

DS2 is 2.2 and had the swine flu jab last week ( he has a heart condition) , I wasnt sure what to do, did a bit of research which either reassured or terrified me, but eventually decided to let him have it. I am a teacher, ds1 is in school and at a CM and ds2 is at nursery, so there are many grps he could pick the infection from, and I decded to go with the jab
He has been fine, no side effects and no problems, he has his second dose next week and when ds1 (4) is called up, he will have it too.
