How long before side-effects of the MMR wear off?

My 13 month old ds had his MMR 12 days ago, and has been suffering with side effects for the last 4 - high temperature, off his food, and generally extremely tired, clingy and feeling sorry for himself. I've looked up a few websites which said this should only last 2 - 3 days at most, but we're now on day 4 and there's not much sign of improvement.

Any feedback as to whether this is 'normal' or not, would be much appreciated!

Probably brewing another unrelated bug -- coincidences do happen.

My ds had his mmr at 2yrs- he was ill for weeks , honestly.

He had a measles like rash , fever , almost like he was going through each disease seperately.

We didn't give him the pre-school booster.

Don't think it's normal but I suppose some kids just have massive reactions to vaccines. Hopefully will mean they have great immunity.

Ds1 had a reaction to the first MMR jab and to the booster. About 10 days after both he got a fever that came on really quickly, was really ill for about 24 hours and then unwell/out of sorts (not eating, lethargic) for a few days after that.

It's recommended to have them 4 weeks apart because that's how long it can take: sounds like with yours it could be a bit longer than others but not outside the normal range, iyswim.

(of course some children never recover but that's another story)

The word coincidence is so often used after vaccinations that it sounds wrong. Mothers are the ones who truly know what coincides with their child's illness.

I watched my niece and great-niece go through awful discomfort after their shots and there was no coincidence about it.
