Pregnant and trying to resist both swine flu and the jab. Various posters have put on manuka honey remedies to try and naturally keep defences up but they're buried deep in the hundreds of threads. If you have any good honey recipes could you share with me?
Thanks
(Posting on pregnany thread too - Is honey alright when pregnant BTW?)

Honey is fine when you are pregnant.

But you are not supposed to 'do' anything with manuka honey, the active components are destroyed by heat. Just have a spoonful of it.

Manuka honey is antibacterial, and swine flu is a virus. So it wouldn't help I'm afraid.

Aranea - could potentially help against the complications of swine flu perhaps? Pneumonia, bronchitis etc are bacterial so maybe it would so something towards preventing/helping to recover from them. In any case I find it's just soothing for sore throats and coughs so it's great to have in the house at this time of year

Oh sure, yes absolutely - I have a jar in the cupboard and give it to my dd1 pretty much every day. I was just saying that it wouldn't help to ward off SF or be a way of avoiding the jab.
