day nine in the house of plague.
Ds and i have flu like illness possibly swine flu, Dh took coule of days off last week but said he was better off being ill at work. DD been off school this week with a voice like mariella frostrup. to top it all the dog has vomited down the stair carpet this morning.

sorry, i shouldn't laugh but why do dogs always have such impeccable timing? early hours of saturday morning, my v poorly ds1 had just been sick all over his bed. ds2 was up screaming with fever etc so i bundled him downstairs in my arms, along with sickly ds1 so that i could bung the sheets into the machine (only 1 spare set so wanted to get them clean asap). while downstairs the dog asked to be let out. while in the garden she trod in one of her own (soggy as it had been raining)poos which she then walked through the kitchen and all the way up the stairs...
oh and i had a raging fever at the time too...

Yes, I can sympathise completely.

At the very start of october, ds got croup.

Followed straight away by a diarrhoea bug.

He was just getting colour back in his face when I got an ear infection which floored me for two weeks (and my hearing has just gone back to normal now, 5 weeks on).

Then, ds got a vomiting bug which lasted 9 days.

He was still very pale and weak when he got a runny nose and cough. I got a cough too.

DH then came down with flu - either seasonal or swine, we are waiting on the swab results. He spent 6 days in bed with a fever and has been a fortnight off work.

My slight cough turned into the worst cough I have ever had, and there's damn all i can take for it because I am 26 weeks pg. Oh, and last week, I went to the toilet in the night, sat on the toilet thinking oh, I think I'm going to be sick, then came round on the bathroom floor in a pool of vomit. Lovely.

We were all feeling ever so slightly better when ds then got a fever which he has had for the last two days.

We are on week 8 at the moment.

Does that make you feel any better?

Oh, ouch. Mouth ulcers can be awful.

I don't remember the name of it, but you can get some sort of paste that seals the ulcer in and keeps it dry. It is really good, and although it doesn't make them heal any quicker, it makes them more bearable.

Hope you feel better soon.

We are almost on the mend here, finally after 8 weeks.....
