Another UTI or general pregnancy aches and pains? GP or midwife? Please help...

Hi ladies, a bit of advice if you'd be so kind...

Last couple of days, have had nagging achey lower abdominal, and weirdly, groin pain. Much worse today, in fact is uncomfortable to walk.

I'm 24 weeks pg.

Had a UTI picked up in my routine urine sample at 16 weeks, although had had no symptoms ? that said, after a course of ABs I did feel much less wiped out in myself, so think maybe the infection had been wearing me down even though I didn't know I had it.

Feeling pretty knackered at the mo, but that may have more to do with upping my work hours and a nighmarish 2 hour commute/nursery run than anything...

I've no other obvious UTI symptoms, no burning or anything.

What do you reckon?

Ignore it?
See GP? (NIGHTMARE to get appt... BTW)
See midwife?

Suggestions as to the best course of action from here greatly appreciated.

Could be SPD but I'm certainly no medic.

If its hard to get an appointment for your GP, I would see your midwife who may be able to pull some strings so you can be seen there and then.

Thanks SB6699 ? Consensus on another thread seems to be likely asymptomatic UTI. Another one. Fab.

Can't get hold of midwives, so will have to try my luck with the triage nurse at the GPs tomorrow - last time I went at 8am and finally saw a GP at 1pm - which is tremendous fun with a fractious 2 yo in tow.

Honestly, I'm a hug fan of the NHS, but sometimes I just wish it was a bit easier to get help, y'know?

Anyway, onward and upward [resigned emoticon]

Just a quick update... it's not a UTI (which is good, i guess) but no idea why I'm so bleedin' uncomfortable. GP's attitude was very "you're pregnant, that's just the way it goes" but don't remember being this painful at any point last time...

Have invested in a bump support band, so see if that helps...

Any other ideas gratefully received. I dpn't think it's SPD as it's definitely lower-abdominal/back rather than hips...

Thanks for all your help, though...

Saw this - was on your other thread. Well really good that it wasn't a UTI, much sympathy for the rest of it!

Thanks for the update. Glad its not a UTI.

Hate to mention this, but my SPD started with really low abdominal pain which moved to the groin area which is why I thought that's what it might be.

Sorry, you're GP isnt sympathetic - suppose its just because they deal with some horrendous illnesses on a daily basis that pregnancy aches and pains are just run of the mill (unfortunately its not the case when you're the one experiencing them).

Would mention it to your midwife next time you see her, they're normally a little bit more willing to investigate these things and will probably be able to advise better on pregnancy related stuff.

Hope you're feeling better soon.
