Mooncup users, have found this month troublesome and wondered if you had any experience?

Last 5 months, absolutely no problems. this month the mooncup keps slipping down, and seems really difficult to get 'up'. Inseting, fine, but it's almost like there is a block.
Have i prolapsed? (kidding) well sort of. So it's been slipping down, and therefore leaking. I had to go back to tampons yesterday. Period doesn't seem any heavier at all. Yet vagina does seem shorter for some odd reason.

Are you pushing it far enough in? I find I have to fold mine in half and then push it right up, there is a natural bugle just inside outer entrance to the vagina which is where the urethra is, it needs to go right up inside the vagina itself IYSWIM.

Ack - natural BULGE not BUGLE lol!!

piratecat · 24/11/2009 22:49

i rather like the bugle mistake there hahaha!!

all the other times, the past 5 periods, i have had no probs. i am pushing it in, but seem to have found more resistance this time, hence my prolaspe comment!

Not being funny but have you felt to see if your cervix is lower this mont, i ask as mine goes up & down and when it is down the mooncup almost touches it and is definately harder to position well.

piratecat · 24/11/2009 22:57

oh def lower, thats what i meant about really short vagina, which i've not experienced before. Also very tender in there too, like a bruised feeling when u get a heavy period.

Sorry, I can't really give advice as I'm still a bit of a novice Mooncup user, and still have days when I can't seem to get the damned thing to unfold properly when it's in place, although other days it's no trouble at all. It might be worth giving the ladies at Mooncup a ring, they were very helpful when I spoke to them and sent me some advice by email.
