DD stopped co sleeping 4 weeks ago and settled really well in her own room. She has now been diagnosed with swine flu and I'm wondering if I should take her back into our bed.

She has a high temp (39.6) and diahorrea (sp)

WWYD?

Thanks

Dd 2(5) had it and she slept in with me.

Recently sh had a throat and ear infection and slept in with me.

It comforts her, so I am happy to do it,.

Yes, I would. DS got swine flu a few months ago (he is now 3.8) and I felt happier having him next to me when he was suffering.

Don't remember diahorrea coming with SF though, so perhaps put a towel under her if she is coming in your bed.

Poor little thing I do hope she improves soon. I think I would definately be by her side to be sure she was ok. At least if she is with you, you will sense a change in her condition or be able to easily comfort her when she needs it. I wish you well

Thanks - I'm going to have her in with me. I'll deal with her going back to her own bed later. I don't think I'd sleep properly if she was in her own room because i'd be worrying all the time.

Thanks everyone. She is just lying around and is so hot. I hope the tamiflu doesn't give her any problems. Fingers crossed.......

Hi guys, those of you with swine flu in children, how long did it last,we are into our 5th day with DS 3.1 and he is still suffering,my husband and I are having turns off work but he is throwing up any medicene including Tamiflu.Im getting worried..do we just sit it out?

BrokenBananaTantrum · 24/11/2009 12:43

ooh i don't know but i seem to think that children should start to show some improvement in 5 days. I'd probably either ring your gp or nhs direct (0845 46 47) and ask them for advice. My DD is also throwing up the tamiflu and calpol. I really hate it when she's ill.

I hope your DS starts feeling better soon. Let us know.

raggedyanne · 24/11/2009 13:19

Sorry for mistakes..have had no sleep for a few days..

twolittlekings · 24/11/2009 14:41

Really sorry to hear your DD not well.
Instead of sleeping in the same bed could you sleep on a mattress on their floor their floor? That way they are not in your bed but you are there if they need you.

BrokenBananaTantrum · 24/11/2009 14:54

Hi Raggedy - sorry at work so not been able to check back in. How is your DS? DD is not doing too bad today. She has not been sick as much but still high temp.

TLK - she slept in with us last night and will do again tonight so I can get a bit of kip without worrying

I hate being at work while she is ill but DH is SAHD and work won't let me have any time off

BrokenBananaTantrum · 24/11/2009 21:20
