ow ow ow ow ow ow ow

I have a bloody abscess and I am in AGONY.

The dentist won't see me till Wednesday afternoon and I look like a bloody chipmunk.

Have dug some Amoxicillin out of the cupboard and am doing paracetamol/corsodyl mouthwash/warm water and salt

Nothing is touching it, am seriously considering pulling the bloody tooth myself

My husband pulled his own tooth out with a pair of pliers (before he was with me!!) He drank a lot of whiskey and went for it. Unfortunately he shattered the tooth by gripping it too hard with the pliers and ended up having surgery to get bits off tooth out of his gum... The conclusion was that he would have been better off getting a dentist to do it!

Can you not find another dentist - maybe even worth going private if you're in agony?

What would happen if you just showed up at the surgery? A friend of mine just did that this morning and found there was a cancellation - as she posted on facebook, would she have been told that if she'd just phoned

Good luck and major sympathy from me.

You are doing the right thing by taking the Amoxicillin Sherby, the dentist will probably prescribe an antibiotic and ask you to make an appointment for a weeks time, when the abscess/infection has gone. How long have you been taking it? It does take about 48 hours before it starts to work. You might be better taking ibuprofen too as they reduce inflammation. Hope you feel better soon
