Does this sound like swine flu or a series of random colds/viruses?

Ds1 (3.4) had what seemed like a nasty cold last week (runny/blocked nose, chesty cough, general misery) then seemed to have got over it on Sunday. Then Sunday night he started being sick around 4am, was sick four times, last one at 8am, then pretty much fine the whole day, if rather grumpy. Monday night he was up every two hours with massive tantrums for no reason we could get out of him, except it was obvious when he lay down he got cross as his nose was stuffed up. Tuesday morning he had a slight temp of just over 38 and one hot red cheek but no other symptoms. Another bad night last night with him up every two hours again. Today been generally grumpy and naughty and the runny nose is back.

Just wondering as it seems to be one symptom after another spaced out rather than all together.

I think a high temperature (nearing 40) is always present in swine flu ... so it sounds like its probably concurrent viruses

it's not a temp nearing 40, it's any high temperature plus two or more of the flu symptoms

have a look at the pandemic online website

Hi if in ANY doubt phone the hotline- I agree with motomoto - high temp & any two Swine flu symptoms - self and whole family have had it now for a week and a day - have all had Tamiflu (you don't even have to pay perscription costs)and most of the Swineflu symptoms at one time or another over the last week. Today was my turn for runs and puking + high temp. Thank heavens for 'flu friend' neighbours, who collected meds - brought soup etc on first day, and for internet shopping (food, Calpol, dvds). Virus is relentless - keep hoping its going when it revives itself and re-attacks -but Tamiflu has kept it off our lungs - thank you NHS & Swine Flu hotlines and our GP.

Very fed-up 4:45 and still awake - just me and the hamster - hot and cold all over. Luckily everyone else sleeping if sweaty. Another Camomile tea - see if that sends me off...
