he has asthma
on singulair and steroid inhaler

but he was quite allergic to egg when younger

he can now eat egg if it's cooked long enough
so I thought he should be offered the vaccine for those allergic
but phone call from surgery said speak to gp when I get there

anyone else's egg allergic child had vaccine?

Hi I've been told by hospital consultant that Ds can't have the injection as he is allergic to eggs amongst other things.

ds has severe nut allergy but his egg allergy has improved a lot
he's not due to be tsted again until he's 8 -next yr

he can eat cake but for eg. gave him brownie which had a million eggs in it and his lips swelled up instantly and throat itching-fine after anti-histamine
But he can have well cooked egg so i am a bit puzzled.

dd used to be pretty allergic to egg - used to vomit violently with even tiny amounts. She grew out of it. Has her jab tomorrow and I don't have any particular concerns as she is fine with seasonal flu jabs.

OhYouBadBadKitten -ds hasn't had seasonal jab but htta is reassuring

I'm glad I'd definitely talk it over with the gp just to be on the safe side though.
