ds is going mad with itch and crying his eyes out what shall I do

It started suddenly about 20mins ago.
He is crying and scratching himself furiously.
There is no rash nothing and I don,t know what to do.
Any ideas please he can,t get to sleep and is very distressed.
He is 8.

has he had chicken pox?

where is he scratching himself? have you phoned the doc?

Sonds like an alergy or insect bite.

Have you got any PIRITON syrup for alergies How about a cool aqueous cream all over his body?

Also sitting outside in the cool air will help.

Piriton and neurofen will take the itch away enough for him to get to sleep.

phew he has just miraculously calmed down saying hs is okay now and has gone to sleep.
I have never known anything like it he was going beserk.
Will have to see how he is in the morning.
Hopefully its just a freak episode.
