Does anyone know when the children's sf trial results are going to be published?

ds is supposed to be having his jab tomorrow ( he's asthmatic) but as well as having a cold, I'm wondering whether to try and wait for the results....

thanks

no idea when they're going to be published, but my 3 dc were on the trial and they had their final blood test last Saturday, and they would only have received the temp charts etc couple of days ago. I'm looking forward to hearing back re immunity.

As far as immediate and noticable side effects from taking the vaccines, we didn't see any. Their temps went up a degree or two for a day or so, but max temps were about 37.5, and no other noticable side effects. The vaccine clinic told me that this has been typical.

thats useful thanks. Thinking about it, there wouldn't even be a trial if they weren't sure the 2 diffent ones were safe. ( naive optimistic emoction)

no, that was my thinking too, although most people I know don't feel the same way. You can only do what feels right for you. For me, I realised that I was much more worried about them actually getting sf, then I was worried about the effects of the vaccine, and I am so so relieved it is done now. My Mum was worried about me involving dc in a trial for obvious reasons, but after talking to the vaccine centre she was really encouraging. Was very funny, one minute she was saying that I shouldn't allow them to be experimented on (or words to that effect), then 5 mins later after talking to them she was all for it.
Was a bit disconcerting how excited they were about having a 6 month old baby to test on though!

Good luck, whatever you decide will be right for you.
