My dd 2.5 years old had 24 hour temperature starting this Tuesday. That has passed and she was running around as usuall and I even sent her to morning nursery yesterday. Today, she seems to completely lethargic and coughing away continuously and saying she's not feeling well. And uncharacteristically doesn't want to watch TV, don't want to eat, but just lies on the floor coughing and want to just stay down on the floor (this has been now more than 2 hours this morning..). I'm very worried. Anybody had anythng similar to this? Anything that will make her cough better?? She's refusing to take any medicine and doesn't have temperature.

Get her checked out. She might have a chest infection. I'm not a doctor but have a 2yr old at home with a chest infection and he also had a temp which went away but the cough persisted and then he kept spiking a temperatue so I got him to the gp.

Yes, get her checked out - sounds like either a non-flu virus or secondary chest/throat infection, both seem rife at dd's school atm (very little flu, thankfully).

dd2 has had a streaming cold which suddenly got worse, no temp but cough developing, then started running slight temp last night and had dreadful night coughing. Out of hours said take to be checked out, and she has a throat infection...

snap!

my DD has had temp over the weekend but her nasty cough and lack of energy don't seem to be shifting. Have dr appoint in an hour for her. She perked up yesterday so i sent her to nursery today only to be called a few hours later to come and get her as she had been miserable all morning.
She is asthmatic so could be chest infection as she is very prone and i am hoping its not swine flu as i would feel terrible that i had sent her to nursery to infect others (honestly she did seem much better!) though some of the staff there had suspected swine flu 2 weeks ago.
her best friend was also sent home today with the same symptoms.
i wish this vaccine would hurry up!
