anyone had a gastric band recently on nhs?

i have searched and there are old partial threads i can find.
I have been put forward now, and before a panel will decide if i am a candidate, i have to have counselling, see a psychiatrist and a dietician.
ANyone been thru this sucessfully and can tell me what happens?

If they decide you're not a candidate, have you heard about the 'Gastric Mind Band'? It looks amazing and I would go for it tomorrow if I flew to Spain. I don't fly though so will have to wait the British couple who carry out the procedure in Spain, come back to the UK!!!..............or teach someone else to do it.

It's quite amazing and I think it'sll be the biggest thing ever soon enough.

I think if you look on the BOSPA site you can find the info of your pct's criteria and the NICE guidelines. If they turn you down you have the right to appeal.
