Apparently it can't be foot and mouth as you can't get it when an adult, so any ideas?

My friend is the one who has told me adults can't get it by the way, if she's wrong then i guess I have it, so what should i be doing.
DD has come up with a large ulcer on her tongue this morning and dsd is complaining of a very sore throat.

Any advice on easing the discomfort would be appreciated. No rashes on any of us, I am too sore to eat though.

If you've not had it before then I expect you can get it. I suppose another thought would be - have you had cold sores before, it also sounds rather like a primary cold sore infection (apart from I'm not sure why all 3 of you would come up with that at once)

Can you get to a pharmacist and see if they can recommend something?

I believe you can get hand, foot and mouth as an adult as a close friend caught it off of her daughter.

Perhaps look on NHS Direct with symptoms and treatment suggestions. There are other possibilities depending on your symptoms.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks ladies, have seen the doctor today and we all have foot and mouth.

Paracetomol for the sore mouth and that's about it.
