Tyrozets/Strefen/dequadin - any views on which best for sore throats?

DS (11) has a sore throat - never get them myself so don't know what to suggest. Have seen these suggested on an old thread - any views on comparative efficacy and least-worst taste....?
Assuming I have a choice in our local pharmacy...

my parents gave me tyrozets when i was younger, they tasted quite nice and left a funny sensation on my tongue - from what i can remember they made more of a funny sensation on my tongue than they did at numbing my throat. still tried to eat the whole tube at once though!

I use Tyrozets, they do numb your mouth.
However, the sprays are also good, but make me gag when i put in my mouth!
Also used to gargle with Disprin,don't know whether it exists any more.
