pain in knuckle on ring finger

just realised this has been going on for a few months now. initially i though tit must just be bruised or something, that i must have caught it on something without realising, and thats why it hurt. but just fiddling with my rings righ tnow, and have realised that was back in july.and it still hurts.
i'd feel silly going to the doctor abou tit, as its not debi,itating or anything like that, and it doesnt look bad, although if i stare at it long enough, it seems that knuckle is microscopically larger than the others on the same hand. could it be some sort of hair line fracture? should i do anything about it at all? or am i just being hypochondriacal. if thats a word.

Take your rings off for a fortnight and see if that makes any difference.

I have had knuckle pain in ring finger and taking them off helps - I do suffer with my joints and circulation though (I should really just not put them back on but am too sentimental). Maybe give it a go though to rule it out before going to docs with it.

i will try... trouble is that after wearing for so many years, my hand feels naked and uncomfortable withou tit. (i only wear wedding band on ring finger) but you are right, is worth a go. i would feel very silly going to docs over something like this anyways.
