I know I'm a raving hypochondriac but this is getting silly.

I have...

a sore thoat
big glands
bit of ear ache
big ulcers on my tongue and sore gums
a headache

All the above - probably an impending cold or virus

stubborn varrucas

a possible hemorrhoid

I am fat and can't lose weight

I am always excessivly cold. so much so it drives Dh mad and my heating bill is rising.

I am very very tired and spend my days off asleep.

The above 3 aren't thyroid - I had that checked a few years ago.

I also have excruciating ovary pain for a week every month followed by a week of excruciating period pain.

and my left knee clicks really loudly.

I am a physical wreck and would like a new body please.

I'd have your thyroid checked again, alot can change in a few years.

Hope you feel better soon.

Have you had a full blood count/iron/thyroid check recently?

EccentricaGallumbats · 15/10/2009 18:52

i eat decently (DH cooks)
have started to takea multi-vitamin as feeling crappier than usual.

I've always been fat, cold, tired and grumpy - which is why I had thyroid checked before.

gave blood last month and wasn't anaemic then.

I had a virus with all of your first set of symptoms a couple of weeks ago - it really knocked me sideways and I still don't feel 100%. So take it easy. Agree that you should get the thyroid thing checked again.

EccentricaGallumbats · 15/10/2009 18:53

sos so so tired today. had a 2 hour nap this afternoon and knackered again.

Get it checked again, this minute young lady Those are classic thyroid symptons.

bringonthetrumpets · 15/10/2009 18:54

I couldn't not write after reading this, as I have days like that as well.

As for the throat and mouth issues, perhaps have your GP check your tonsils? I had the same type of thing, swollen glands, sore throat, ear aches and headaches, plus just a general run-down feeling that lasted for months. I ended up seeing a few different doctors who just passed it off as a virus, and then a bacterial infection and prescribed anti-b's. I finally made it to a Ear, Nose and Throat doctor who took out my tonsils (yes, even at 23 they take out tonsils) and I have to say that I felt about 100 times better once the surgery site had healed.

Perhaps you're cold because of poor circulation?

Sorry I can't offer the answer or solve anything but hopefully you start to feel better soon!

EccentricaGallumbats · 15/10/2009 18:55

PCOS? - weight issues, generally feeling like shite and ovary pain followed by period pain.

Echinacea and plenty of foods containing garlic, tomatoes, broccoli etc. (superfoods)

(sorry, stubborn verrucas made me rofl! )

Have you been to the dentist lately and had your teeth properly cleaned? Sometimes mouth ulcers, recurrent sore throats etc can be from teeth.

Are you anaemic? (tiredness and menstruation issues). If not, how much exercise do you get? If you are knackered on your days off and there is no medical reason then can you get out for a walk/swim? Lack of exercise can make you feel very tired and lethargic.

Haemorroids - really common. get some cream and take paracetomol if sore.

itsmeolord · 15/10/2009 18:57

You don't need to have pus to have ongoing tonsil problems, if they are inflamed and causing a long term issue then they will be very large.

EccentricaGallumbats · 15/10/2009 18:57

PCOS possible. am also hairy.

god I sound so attractive.

Yes to dentist regularly and i also floss.

Get thee back to the doctors and ask to be tested and get a scan.

What contraception are you using?

Vigilanteawarenessraiser · 15/10/2009 20:48

look into endometriosis - ovulation pain and period pain are classic. Tiredness also usual.
See here and here.

EccentricaGallumbats · 15/10/2009 22:22

contraception? what's that?

What's your diet like? You may eat decently, but are you eating lots of refined carbohydrates? Do you eat a lot of sugar? Not just the obvious white stuff but in things like fruit?
