Hi.. am just looking for some advice (or even for someone to say "it's normal!"..
Last week I stupidly tripped over my foot - literally caught it under myself and heard a loud click. I couldn't put any weight on it but as long as I didn't try then there was no real pain. I went to A&E and had an x-ray which showed that there were no broken bones (just signs of an old break) and they thought I had just badly bruised my foot. I came home with crutches and instructions to rest for a few days.
Since the weekend, I have had a lot of pain - I can weight bear now and walk slowly round the house without my crutches (getting to the loo/kitchen etc!) without much problem. But sitting down or at night in bed my foot is so painful - I can't get comfy and the pain is all over. I am taking ibrufen (all I have in house and dh when sent out to get me paracetamol.. came back with more ibrufen) but it doesn't seem to even touch the pain and I am struggling to sleep at night.
I have never broken a bone or even bruised myself like this before so can anyone say if this pain is normal 9 days later? Is there anything I can do to help myself?
thanks
