i had a 2nd degree tear inside and had stitches....the midwife was on the verge of having to cut me during birth as dd2 had a big head (she got a square head which it doesnt help!! ).

this was my first natural birth

had something similar with ds1. had ultrasound treatment, which may have helped a bit, though more recently physio says that there's no evidence it does anything much.
Was told that one of the most helpful things was just to rub it every day - kind of helps scar tissue soften, and gets it all more stretchy etc.
You could ask to see a women's health physio - I definitely rate them.

did u rub it with any essential oils ie lavender as ive still got the lavender and also the tea tree oil that helped me when i was recovering from the horror beautiful birth!! it took me 3 months to starting to feel abit better, by 6-7 months i started to feel loads better.
