I go to an osteopath when I have one. It's not magic, but does make it feel somewhat better right away and then the crick goes away within a day - mine usually last for at least a few if I don't do anything.

I put a heated wheat bag thing when I have a bad neck, really works for me

i've got a really basic one - put your pillow under your neck rather than your head when you sleep. not quite sure why it helps, but it does.

have found a local osteopath school that he can see if he can't bear it!
