So this morning the cat bit my daughter at 6am while I was asleep, she screamed in a melodramatic fashion (the cat only has 3 teeth, he can't exactly savage anyone) and I woke up with a start.
Leaping out of bed seems to have caused me to pull a muscle in my neck, by 11am the pain was making me cry (and I'm not a wimp with pain) and I went to minor injuries. They confirmed it as a pulled muscle and gave me horse strength painkillers - after convincing themselves that I wasn't a victim of domestic violence and that my bizarre "child being bitten by toothless cat causing neck injury" story was true.
It really hurts. I have torn my hamstring and popped my kneecap out of place in the past and this is up there with those injuries for pain. Even with painkillers if I try and move my head at all it is excruciating. Does anyone have any idea how long this is likely to go on for? Or any ideas as to what I can do to ease it?
