Orinoco - you can have my PLE with pleasure . Although I still don't have it myself yet this year despite a couple of good sunny days this week.

The rash is slightly different with solar urticaria apparently. It settles quicker and is less 'blistery'.

I'm taking Telfast 180mg (fexofenadine).

Perhaps it's a different sort of sun this year meggymoo

Hi, I started getting this years ago and while the anti-histamines and WH etc can help with the itching the only thing that ever prevents it is a sun cream with a high UVA screen. Even if you buy one with a high factor it might not necessarily have a high UVA rating. There are several on the market and they usually say they are for skin with allergy to sunlight. I use a Piz Buin one and I bought a Simple one for DS which seems really good. I used a tiny bit on my arms today and obviously forgot to put more on as I have developed heat rash but only where the sun cream didn't reach!
Hope this helps - and as for the tan, gotta be fake I'm afraid!

I've just come back from a week in very hot Majorca and have suffered from prickly heat every time I've been on holiday since I was young. At the ripe old age of 50 I took Ultrasun factor 20 (the shimmery one) on holiday this year, sat out all day every day and not a single prickle! I am absolutely chuffed to bits and can't recommended this suncream enough!! It's like a miracle has occurred!!
