Our ds is 15months old, and is normally a child who doesnt often cry. However, for the past few days hes been really distressed when hes having food. He seems ok chewing it, but he cries out when hes swollowing it.
Rang emergeny gp, who said to go and see doctor in the morning.
Ds had mmr jab about 2 weeks ago, is it anything to do with this?
Apart from eating, hes in good health.
BTW, calpol doesnt seem to work.

bump xx

Yes nurofen will help reduce swelling in his throat, you can give this as well as calpol about an hour apart.
I would still take him to gp though as it may be tonsilitis (sp??)

Thx for that mumof2, tiffini, we'll see how it goes tonight, and see a doctor if its still the same tomorrow.
He also seems to be trying to grab at his throat

My ds developed a very mild case of mumps about 2 weeks after the jab. That was 17years ago so don't know if the vaccine is different now. Would explain sore throat though.
By the way ds was fine once it passed.
