My mum used to make me one when I was ill ,the whiskey used to knock me out and I slept for hours.Think I must have been about 12ish when she first gave me an alcoholic one

How do you make them?

Am sure my mum's were just whiskey ,orange juice ,honey and hot water

Ours is whiskey, hot water, sugar, couple of cloves and slice of lemon. Mmmm, what a great idea (also helpful for staving off a cold!)

honey, boiling water and whisky here drunk while feet are soaking in a basin with mustard. Yours sounds lovely bosch.

Bosch, this is how I make one too. The cloves are really warming. I also find that a cup of cocoa made with milk and unsweetened cocoa but no sugar does wonders.

Hot water, honey, whisky and lemon. Excellent for coughs. We keep a bottle of whisky in the cupboard specially for them.
