Wondering if to have a rectocele op

Since my dd was born 3 years ago and I had a bad tear I haven't been happy 'down there', and have to rush to the loo . I've just been told by a consultant I will need an op to fix a rectocele, but as it isn't very bad yet and there is a high risk of the op going wrong (5-10%) he says it is up to me whether I have it now or put it off till it is really driving me bonkers.

I really want to get back to normal and would like to get it over with, so at the mo am leaning to having the op as soon as poss.

Anyone else in this position - how did you decide?

Many thanks!
