Please help-I have got Piles and I am in total agony!

I have had them before over the years but NEVER as painful as this, just a nuisance normally.
It started last night and seemed to just flare up and I couldn't sleep, I am in total agony and can barely walk or sit down, I dont know what to do is there anyone who can give me recommendations? had a hot bath and seems to be worse now
My inlaws were here earlier and must have thought was really rude but I am in such pain and too embarrassing no tell them

chemist - get some hemerroid cream

it works

heat makes them worse!!

try ice wraped in a cloth to shrink them. if they are external.. sit on a ring type cushion. and yes,chemist.

well yeah I cant get to a chemist can barely walk lol, have asked hubby if can go after work just trying to find out what chemists are open, they are external.
how do you find out about out of hours chemists?

I had the most awful piles after having DD2, I think the pain was far worse than labour. Get pessaries and cream and sit on a rubber ring - pessaries were the best for me. You have my deepfelt sympathy

yes - ice if you can and cream from the chemist. You have my sympathy. Terrible affliction.

Yes, cream or ointment really helps. The spray is good but you can't use it if breastfeeding or pregnant.

Longer term, I have found huge improvement by not using loo roll to wipe, but washing instead. Helps to have a bidet, but honestly has made a massive difference, and I've suffered for years.

Suppositories really helped me. Get them on prescription from your doctor and some strong prescription cream (all free with your nhs card). It's been 5 months for me and they're still on and off. Nightmare! Sorry to be gross, but I found when they're really bad run some tissue under cold water after you've "been" and wipe/dab with that. Oh the joys of giving birth....!

Ibuprofen!

Lavender and cyprus essential oils - a few drops of each in the bath.

Any treatment cream with local anaesthetic.

Lots of water and healthy diet to keep everything soft when going to the loo.

You might have a thrombosed one if sitting or walking are nearly impossible. If creams and ice don't improve things, go to your A&E and have them lance it. Thrombosis means the blood gets in but not out fast enough or at all (sorry if tmi). You may need lancing.

hiya, I drove around in agnoy last night for age trying to find a chemist open on a sunday evening! I gave up in the end and went to the drop in emergency doctor servicewhere a nurse had a look an mentioned Thrombosed! they sent me off for some extra strength cream and pain killers and it has helped a little ( a little) but still very uncomfortable especially when sitting and when I get up. Will see if gets any better after a couple of days. Im not pregnant my daughter 5!

Right - I am an expert on them after each of my pregnancies I had THE worst piles ever. You must get to your GP and get some powerful cream and suppositories and you MUST keep them moist to prevent them chafing and being excuciatingly painful. After each poo rinse yourself with the shower head and then reapply generous amounts of cream.

When I had DD the nurses on the maternity ward had ice packs made from silicone gloves (from first aid kit). Fill with water, freeze then cut of the fingers of the gloves. Wrap in a bit of gauze (you really really do not want to freeze them to your skin down there!) It really helped me.

You can also use condoms in the same way. Tie a knot in them and freeze them.

oh my god I sat on some ice last night just before giving up and going on a epic chemist search, It was horrific! I dont know how people do that but it was just too painful for me.
The nurse at the drop in wrote down what to buy as it was cheaper than a prescription. Supositories will make me go BIG TIME wont they, that wil surely hurt

I have had piles before and they are uncomfortable and have had the horrible sharp pains etc when you walk but this time is a constant pain and feels like I have golf balls stuck on my bottom lol

I think they mean suppository pile treatment not laxative.

If they are external though. I don't think they will help that much.

I actually found a shallow hot bath (think they're called "sitz" baths) better than ice packs, but the main thing that helped was getting a full strength prescription cream from the doctor. It is so horrible though isn't it! You have my sympathies, hope you feel better soon!
