Help! Have I shifted my coil trying to get my new mooncup out?

Just got my period back after having dd 9 months ago and I'm trying out my new mooncup for the first time

Taking it out seemed difficult even though I thought I'd released the seal so I thought I should check my coil was still in place. I could feel it poking out of my cervix! Is this right? Is it just the strings that were supposed to be outside the womb? I checked it soon after it was put in and thought I could feel a little bobble, but there's quite a bit more sticking out now.

Well not where it is that's for sure - you should only feel the strings. Get ye to the GP!!!!

Coil goes in the uterus, string hangs down through the cervix.

No you can't wait, the cervix is open slightly when you are bleeding - this means it shouldn't hurt too much to put it back in place. If you wait till you stop bleeding it will be much more uncomfortable. Also you may well expel it entirely and then it'll be a wait for a new one and then a complete new replacement which is a much bigger deal for you. Don't worry, your GP will have seen blood before!

Back to my original question I suppose - could clumsly removing my mooncup have shifted it or do you think it was coming out anyway? The doctor was vague when I mentioned it.
